Circle Island Tour: CUSTOM TOURS/CHARTER SERVICE KMC also offers island wide charter service, customized tours, and airport transportation. There are passenger vans for 12-15 people and larger buses that accomodate from 24-51 people. Rates depend upon type of vehicle and range from $35-$90 per hour plus a one-hour service time charge. OTHER RECREATIONAL OFFERINGS This specially-designed tour package highlights many of the Big Island’s popular attractions. Includes three nights lodging, four island tours, most meals and Hilo Airport transfers. *Itinerary and prices are subject to change without notice. ITINERARY Arrival days should be scheduled from Sunday through Thursday in accordance with the KMC shuttle pick-up times noted below for Hilo Airport. (The KMC shuttle does not pick up at Kona International Airport.) Flight information will be needed to schedule airport shuttle; 48 hour advance notice is required. Scheduled pick-up times at Hilo Airport are: 11:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:45 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. While on tour, drop off times at Hilo Airport are: Wednesday & Saturday 3:30 p.m. (approximate) Friday 6:00 p.m. (approximate) Other departure times leaving from KMC are noted under "Shuttle Service" The airlines recommend that passengers check-in 90 minutes prior to flight departure to allow ample time for security clearance and unexpected delays. Guests may also choose to extend their stay for a few more days to do their own sightseeing of the Big Island. See "KMC Nightly Room Rates" for more information. The KMC shuttle can be arranged for transportation to Hilo Airport to pick up a rental car. MEALS: 3 Breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 3 dinners are provided. (Please note: An additional fee will be charged for special event buffets.) TOURS: Volcano Chain of Craters Road Tour, Volcano Crater Rim Tour, Hilo Tour and Circle Island. WILD GINGER RATES FY 2009: Effective October 1, 2008 and subject to change without notice. For bookings made during non-black out periods, a $50.00 credit for use at the KMC General Store will be issued per reservation for packages beginning on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. ELIGIBILITY: Open to all active duty and retired Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard), Reserve, National Guard, and Other Uniformed Services (Public Health Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.) Also, Armed Forces dependents, current and retired Department of Defense (DOD) civilian employees including Coast Guard Civilian Employees, and sponsored guests. (Other personnel on official business with the Department of Defense may also be eligible.) PLEASE NOTE:

DEPOSIT INFORMATION: A one night deposit by Check, Money Order, Visa, MasterCard or American Express is required within 15 days of your booking date. It is refundable if a CANCELLATION notice is received at least 30 days prior to your arrival date. All arrival and departure date changes must be made prior to this 30-day period to avoid a deposit forfeit and/or EARLY CHECK-OUT FEE (equivalent to one night’s lodging). Late check-outs when approved are subject to a LATE CHECK-OUT FEE. CHECK-IN: 3:00 p.m. • CHECK-OUT: 11:00 a.m. SHUTTLE SERVICE: Available to and from the Hilo Airport for authorized patrons and sponsored civilians. FY 2008 Fee: $7 per person, one way for E-7 and above. Schedule as noted below. No charge for E1-E6 Active Duty (unless TDY) and immediate family members. FY 2009 Fee: $8 per person, one way for all passengers except E5 and below are $4 per person. Schedule as noted below. Shuttle Service will be dispatched only with an advance request of at least 48 hours. Allow 1 hour travel time each way. 8:30 a.m. • 12:00 p.m. • 2:30 p.m. • 4:45 p.m. PICK-UP AT HILO AIRPORT: 11:00 a.m. • 1:30 p.m. • 3:45 p.m. • 6:30 p.m. HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK FEE: KMC is located within the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, an entrance fee of $10 per vehicle or $5 per person on our shuttle will be assessed at the toll booth. The fee is good for seven days. Please retain your receipt to re-enter park. Various National Park passes such as the Golden Eagle, Golden Age, etc. are honored. DRIVING DIRECTIONS: To reach KMC, travel south on Hwy.11 and turn into the main entrance of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park located between mile markers 28 and 29. Drive one mile past the Kilauea Visitor Center on Crater Rim Drive to KMC. There is a grassy front lawn and lava rock wall at the front of the camp. The Front Desk is located in Building 40, the main headquarters. Travel time from Hilo Airport is about 1 hour and from Kona International Airport approximately 3 to 3 1/2 hours. |
